Nursing Homes In Each State is free for families, and always will be. Two things pay for it, and neither one changes what you see about any nursing home.
Where the money comes from
Only these two sources. We don't sell visitor data, and nobody pays us when a family calls, tours or chooses a home.
Ads
Google shows ads in clearly marked spaces on our pages. We don't pick the individual ads, and advertisers have no say over our data or rankings.
Featured listings
Nursing homes can pay a flat monthly fee to add their own photos and story, and to show a card labeled Featured · Paid listing above their city's list.
Prices are published and are the same for every home in a market size.
What paying never buys
These hold for every home, featured or not.
The data never changes
Star ratings, staffing, inspections, fines and CMS flags appear exactly as CMS publishes them.
Rankings never move
Featured cards sit above or beside the ranked list, always labeled, never inside it.
No per-family fees
We don't charge homes per inquiry, tour or admission, so we have no reason to steer anyone.
Who can be featured
Only homes in good standing with CMS. We check every month when CMS updates its data.
- Not homes with the CMS abuse icon
- Not Special Focus Facilities or candidates
- Not homes with a 1-star CMS overall rating
If standing changes, a featured listing pauses automatically and the unused time is refunded.
Homes that can't be featured still appear with all their CMS data, and families can still request tours and information from them for free.
data
Everything about each home comes from the CMS Provider Data Catalog, updated monthly, for all 14,686 Medicare- and Medicaid-certified nursing homes. We're independent and not affiliated with CMS or Medicare. More about the data.
